How to Give Your Newborn Baby a Bath

As a new mother, you want to nail down every possible thing to take care of your baby. One of the essential things you need to do is bathing them. Often, you will find yourself feeling a little overwhelmed with having to bathe your baby. It has to do with the fact that they are so small, and handling them properly is important. If you’re concerned about how to give your newborn baby a bath, then look no further. Here, we will talk about the different steps you need to take to ensure that your baby is safe and secure as you bathe them.

Step 1: Gather All Of The Supplies

The first thing that you will need to do before starting to bathe your baby is gathering all the supplies. This includes a baby bath towel (a baby hooded towel works wonders), bath sponge, diapers, clothes, and warm water. Getting all of these things beforehand is important so that you can easily bathe your baby without any issues.

Step 2: Undress

Next, you will need to move on to undressing your newborn. You need to be extremely careful when working around with your baby. Nothing should get tangled up, and their clothes should be easy to remove and put on. So, make sure you make your child wear fuss-free clothing. Once the clothes are removed, you should also remove the diaper so that you can move on to the next step as soon as possible. You can also remove the diaper at a later stage. Throughout, you will have to cradle your baby when you was them.

Step 3: Cleanse Body

Next, you will need to cleanse the body of your baby. Make sure that you get in the right spots on their body. For instance, you will need to get around the insides of their elbows, behind their ears, around their knees, between their fingers and toes, and around their neck. As you go about cleaning them, you will need to ensure that you are cradling them efficiently, exposing only that area which is being cleaned.

Step 4: Wash Hair

Next, you will move on to the hair. This must be the last part of the body that you should wash so that you baby doesn’t get cold. Apply the baby shampoo and clean their hair through properly, then rinse it all off. Make sure you remove all possible traces of shampoo so that it doesn’t irritate your baby.

Step 5: Pat Dry

Lastly, you will need to pat them dry and make sure that they don’t stay wet for too long. Wrapping them up in baby hooded towel works great as you can cover them from head to toe. This way, their head isn’t going to be exposed either, allowing them to dry up in no time. Use this baby bath towel to help them remain warm even after they bathe.

Bathing your baby might seem like something you need to worry about. But with the right tools and steps to guide you, it shouldn’t be too concerning for you.
