Which should you buy? If you already own an S12 or S12 Pro, your current accessories keep working for everyday use, and flange inserts fit both the S12 Pro and the Quick, though other parts are model-specific—so there's no rush to upgrade. If you're buying new, the S12 Pro Quick is Momcozy's current pick. For a detailed comparison, check out the S12 Pro vs S12 Pro Quick comparison. The lineup has moved from the original S12 to the S12 Pro and now to the current S12 Pro Quick.
How to use the Momcozy S12 Pro Quick
The pump can run alone, but running the pump in the following sequence will give you the best letdown and drain:
-
Wash your hands. Clean and dry the flange, collector, diaphragm and valve.
-
Turn it on. Hold the power button until the screen lights up.
-
Start in Stimulation Mode. That's normal. The brief, short pulls simulate the infant's initial hurried, fast sucks and set up letdown.
-
Switch to Expression Mode once milk starts flowing. Press the mode button; the slower, deeper pulls drain milk more efficiently.
-
Adjust the level using the + / - buttons on the 9 levels. Begin at a low level and only go to the level that is comfortable.
-
Finish in Mixed Mode near the end of the session to re-stimulate and drain hindmilk. The pump auto shuts off after 30 minutes, or press and hold power to stop early.
What are the S12 Pro Quick pumping modes?
The S12 Pro Quick is a 3-mode device with displays on the LCD:
-
Stimulation is the basic mode that starts first. The quick, rapid pulls simulate the baby's early fast sucks, and facilitates letdown.
-
Expression uses slower, deeper pulls to get milk out of the breast after milk has started flowing.
-
Mixed stimulates and expresses at the same time. Re-stimulation and draining of hindmilk may be beneficial at the end of a session.
Begin in Stimulation, enter Expression after milk starts to flow, and end in Mixed. Pump automatically shuts off after 30 minutes.
How to assemble the Momcozy S12 Pro Quick (and take it apart)
The assembly uses just 4 parts, and a tight seal keeps the suction strong and the milk from leaking.
To assemble for use:
- Wash and dry hands.
- Press the silicone diaphragm against the flange.
- Attach the duckbill valve to the flange, straight and snug with no gaps.
- Attach the flange to the milk collector. Make sure that the diaphragm has not moved and there is no gap around it.
- Match up the milk collector protrusion to the port on the pump motor by positioning the groove into the notch and squeeze.
To take it apart for cleaning:
- Remove the pump motor from the pump body. Never submerge the motor.
- Remove the flange from the milk collector.
- Pull the diaphragm and valve off the flange.
The milk collector, flange, diaphragm and duckbill valve are washable. Pump motor should not be washed or put in the dishwasher.

How to clean and sterilize the S12 Pro Quick
Wash after each use. CDC recommends sanitizing any part that comes into contact with milk after each use, along with sanitizing the newborn or preterm baby CDC pump cleaning guidance. The routine is outlined in Momcozy's breast pump cleaning guide. Follow these steps:
- Wash all washable parts under running water to remove milk.
- Place them in warm soapy water (40 to 60 C) for 3 - 5 minutes.
- Use a brush designed to clean pumps; be sure to clean the valve and diaphragm.
- Rinse off once more with clean water.
- Let dry in the air on a clean towel. Avoid towel drying as lint may remain in the parts.

To sterilize:
- Washable parts can be boiled for 5 to 10 minutes or a steam sterilizer can be used.
- Avoid using a UV sterilizer on these parts. Momcozy mentions that their life is shortened by the high heat (above 110 C). See the bottle and pump sterilizer FAQ for more details.
We have not tested dishwasher cleaning for this product, so use hand wash only, as Momcozy's care guide recommends.
How to charge the S12 Pro Quick and know when it is full
Connect to the included USB-C cable with a 5V 1A or 5V 2A adapter. A full charge takes about 2 hours and gives you roughly 8 sessions from the 1,350 mAh battery.
To charge:
- Connect the USB-C cable to the pump's charging port, and then connect the adapter to a power source.
- Keep it plugged in until the battery bars are full. It can take up to 2 hours to fully charge.
How do you know it is fully charged?
- See the LCD battery level bars fill progressively: 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% Charging. During the cycle the first bar flashes.
- Once the charge is complete, the indicator remains constant (solid white), and does not cycle any further.
- When only one low-battery bar appears on the screen, charge the battery before your next session.

How to reset the Momcozy S12 Pro Quick
When the pump is having difficulty (frozen buttons, incorrect mode, error code) the reset is easy. It is very similar on the S12 and S12 Pro:
- Hold down the power button until the pump is completely off.
- Wait around 10-15 seconds for internal systems to reset.
- Press the power button once again to turn it back on.
If it persists in being a problem after that, please reach out to Momcozy support. The pump will retain your previous mode and level after reset and will boot up into that mode and level upon reset.
How to empty and pour milk from the S12 Pro Quick
To get the milk out without a spill:
- Keep the pump upright and lean forward about 45 degrees before removing it from your bra.
- Separate the motor from the milk collector.
- Hold the collector vertical, keep the flange opening pointing up, and pour into a bottle or storage bag through the collector opening.
It is important because the S12 cups are large (7 oz) and it is easy to spill when mom is bending over or pulling the pump out while leaning back. The safe habit is to be upright and forward facing.
How much milk does the S12 Pro Quick hold?
The collector has 210 mL (or approximately 7 oz). It's the largest-capacity in Momcozy's S-series wearable line, and it's for that reason that high-output moms love it. As a comparison, the original S12 and S12 Pro were 180 ml/6 oz, so the Quick will provide you with approximately one additional ounce before you have to stop and refill.
Is the Momcozy S12 Pro Quick hospital grade?
It offers hospital grade strength suction of up to 292 mmHg—this is what brands refer to when they say "hospital grade suction. However, it is not a multi-user clinical pump like a hospital nursery would have; it is a personal pump for single- user. If you require a true multi-user hospital pump (e.g. NICU set up) then this is a different category. It works well for daily personal use and sits in the hospital-grade strength range. The hospital grade breast pump explainer answers the question of what it really means. Breast pumps are considered a medical device by the FDA and you can learn the basics on the FDA breast pump page.
Is the S12 Pro Quick leak proof?
The DoubleFit hybrid flange (soft silicone with a more firm rim) has a better seal than a single flange design, which for most mothers reduces leaks. However, a wearable pump will not always be totally leak-proof. The most common causes of a leak are if the flange isn't fully snapped in place, if the cup is filled too high, or if it is leaned back too far while it is full. Keep the collector as upright as you can, don't fill past 7 oz, and always test the seal after you assemble it. The guide to preventing flange leaks shows how to seat the flange correctly.
What flange size comes with the S12 Pro Quick?
All S12 Pro Quick come with a 24 mm silicone flange. Sizes other than 24 mm can also be obtained: 17 mm, 19 mm and 21 mm. The most important determinant of comfort and output is flange fit, so take a measurement of your nipple before you "settle" for a size. The flange fit guide will provide information on how to measure at home.
How often should you replace S12 Pro Quick parts?
The soft silicone parts wear out and that is the usual cause of weak suction:
-
Duckbill valve and diaphragm: every 1 to 3 months, or sooner if you see a tear, a warped slit, or milk residue that will not rinse clean.
-
Flange inserts: every 3 to 6 months, or when the edges crack.
-
Flange itself: replace if it warps or no longer seals.
If suction suddenly drops, check the valve and diaphragm first. A worn part that costs a few dollars is the most common reason a pump "stops working."
Is the S12 Pro Quick a good pump? Is it worth it?
For the price, yes. It has a 4.5 stars from about 1,800+ reviews and the most common comments are about value (under $140 for a double pump), the clear LCD, the 7 oz capacity and its quietness. The most common grievance is the lack of control of the app. To change the setting, you have to press the buttons on the pump, which is inside your bra. For those concerned about Apps, the Momcozy M5 Smart review also covers the App Connected version of this family.

Why is my S12 Pro Quick not suctioning?
Nine times out of ten it is one of these:
-
Duckbill valve: a tiny tear or a loose fit breaks the seal. Press it on firmly until it snaps, or replace it.
-
Diaphragm seal: if it is wet, folded, or not pressed flat around the collector edge, suction leaks. Make sure both surfaces are bone dry.
-
Flange fit: too large a flange lets air in; too small hurts and reduces output. Measure and size down if needed.
-
Assembly: the motor must click fully onto the collector with the groove aligned to the notch.
-
Low battery: a near-dead battery can weaken suction. Charge it and retest.
If the motor runs but there is still no pull after checking all of the above, the motor itself may be faulty. That is rare, but it is covered by support.
What moms are actually asking about the S12 Pro Quick
In addition to the how-to questions, there are some themes that appear frequently in Reddit and forum threads. Below are all the things going on and the remedy that usually helps.
Why does my S12 Pro Quick leak and leave me covered in milk?
The flange is usually closed, but it isn't, or you bent over and the cup is full. Squeeze the flange in until it clicks, keep back up straight while pumping and avoid over pouring the 7 oz mark. Most of the time, it's just a proper flange seat, and the Flange leak guide details it.
Suction stopped after a couple of months. Is the pump broken?
It is not a dead motor, it is a worn duckbill or a non-seated diaphragm, in most repair threads. A few dollars will buy a replacement valve, and it will restore suction. Don't fault the entire pump unless you first check the valve and the diaphragm.
I don't like reaching into my bra to change settings. Is there an alternative?
The S12 Pro Quick is button-controlled by design, so changing mode or level means reaching in. If phone control matters to you, the M5 Smart connects to the Momcozy app for remote adjustments and session tracking. The M5 Smart review covers what app control adds.
The pump looks bulky under my shirt. How do I make it less visible?
It is not all in one, as the motor is on top of the cup. A snug pumping bra will keep it flat and conceal the shape. The best pumping bra picks are designed just this.
How do I know when the cup is full?
The collector has a 7 oz. mark. If you're a high producer, be sure to check when you're full during the session to avoid becoming an auto-stopper. The every day-use pump guide is a helpful follow-up for general routine and fit assistance.
Bottom line
The latest S12 family pump for the current S12 Pro Quick is the clear LCD, the quietest (46 dB or less), the largest in the S-series (210 ml or 7 oz), and the strongest (up to 292 mmHg) wearable pump at under $140 for the double. The single drawback is that there's no app control, which means that you will have to make settings using the buttons on the pump. For app tracking, you can opt for the M5 Smart, but for the lowest price, you can choose the S9 Pro. The S12 Pro Quick is the ideal pump for most everyday pumping.
