August is World Breastfeeding Awareness Month
August is World Breastfeeding Awareness Month. It is a period when the world celebrates breastfeeding, encouraging more women to breastfeed for overall better child development.
To celebrate this meaningful month, Momcozy partnered with photographer Alicia Samone for the annual gASP Breastfeeding photoshoot which took place on August 6th in East Valley and Ashley Castle, Arizona. The event, which happened during World Breastfeeding Week and National Breastfeeding Awareness Month, was organized to help raise awareness and normalize breastfeeding among moms.
Breastfeeding isn’t as easy as people think — it’s hard. Really hard.
When you're waking up at night in soaked shirts, when your breasts are painfully engorged because your baby isn’t fully emptying them, when you're dealing with the sharp ache of clogged ducts — these excruciating moments often feel invisible. It’s like a quiet cry buried beneath your everyday strength — because not everyone will truly understand. But we do. We listen. We're here to help. And we're always ready to support you.
Here is a series of educational resources for expectant and new moms — to guide you toward a more successful breastfeeding journey. Whether you choose to breastfeed or pump, your breast milk is the best gift you can give your baby. Learn more — and make this time with your little one easier and cozier.
Why Is Breastfeeding Important?
Breastfeeding is a process that facilitates your bonding with your child. Your breast milk is all the food your baby needs, always at the right temperature and filled with all the best nutrients.
How Often Should I Feed My Baby?
You can feed your baby as early and as often as needed. Most newborns who are formula-fed feed every 2 to 3 hours. As they get bigger and their tummies can hold more milk, they usually eat every 3 to 4 hours.
How To Take Care Of Myself When Breastfeeding?
You're a super mom, even if you tend to be hard on yourself. Don't ask too much from yourself; feeding your baby already takes enough of your time and energy every day.
